The Primary Servers

Permanent primary fileserver and backup server. These are used indirectly through our main servers, never directly by users.

The Main Servers

Permanent web/mail/svn/dns/ldap/ssh/etc. front-end servers. These are used directly by users. Different machines serve different functions, but all within a group are interchangeable and fully redundant.

Cluster64

Permanent process servers. These are used directly by users or as a true 256-core cluster with 512GB RAM.

Cluster32

Permanent process servers. These are used directly by users or as a true 256-core cluster with 256GB RAM.

The Secondary Servers (Formerly Acting Primary/Main Servers)

Permanent backup servers currently standing in for our primary server until its purchase. Consists of these two machines:

The "Linux" Network

This network is a mix of various machines, from general desktop systems to workstation grade machine. It is not generally used for research, but for other department business. However, the "Research" network, below, is now also part of this network.

The "Research" Network

Main research machines, though actually now all part of the "Linux" network. Consists of the following sub-networks.

The "Classroom"

Classroom machines, consists of the following two transparent sub-networks.
